S’More

Breed: German Shepherd
Gender: Female
Age: 1 Year Old

S’More’s story isn’t just one of survival—it’s a testament to resilience, love, and the power of second chances.

When the shelter sent out an urgent plea-they were desperate to give her a chance. S’More had been hit by a car and was in terrible shape. Her injuries were devastating: fractured ribs, a broken pelvis, a crushed leg, and such severe head trauma that her eye had to be removed. At the Tustin specialty group, surgeons inserted drainage tubes to relieve swelling in her head and neck, narrowly avoiding the removal of her jaw and salivary glands.

While recovering, S’More was diagnosed with Parvo on top of everything else. She was in the fight of her life and spent days on a feeding tube, receiving oxygen and plasma transfusions. But somehow, she pulled through.

Today, she’s a joyful, playful, and affectionate pup who turns heads and melts hearts. Koreen, who oversees our medical program, calls her the “poster child” for our work— and S’More has earned that title. And if you saw those ears, you’d understand why we’re all completely in love with her.

S’More is ready for her forever home. She’s looking for someone who sees her not as a dog with a past, but as a pup with endless potential. She’s healthy, spirited, and eager to love—and she deserves a family who will cherish her as fiercely as she’s fought to live.

S’more is available to adopt in the Greater Los Angeles area.
